When The National Trust decided to increase their online recruitment capability they looked no further than online recruitment experts HotLizard, their web partner of 4 years.
The National Trust's existing career website offered a welcoming and user friendly experience, but advances in technology meant that it needed updating in order to stay ahead of competition. They wanted to not only improve their candidate attraction and increase applications with the new website development, but also wanted to seamlessly integrate with an applicant tracking system to help manage the recruitment process. This, they hoped, would reduce paper applications and speed up the recruitment process for the HR Service Centre.
The solution that HotLizard provided came in the form of a bespoke career portal and recruitment management system, NetResourcer Corporate.

The site has its own unique web address www.ntjobs.org.uk and uses highly sophisticated web technology to maximise candidate attraction through Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Experts in providing recruitment websites, job boards and recruitment management software, HotLizard incorporated career website functionality that has been refined through almost 10 years experience in the recruitment industry, giving the National Trust a real competitive advantage when compared to other organisations that rely on job boards for advertising and deal with paper based applications.
The National Trust's requirements for the new career site included enhanced usability for candidates and job seekers, detailed information pages about the Trust and online application tools. HotLizard's solution ticked all of these boxes and also included an enhanced content management system that provides The National Trust with the ability to customise and add content as they wish. Integrating the career website seamlessly with NetResourcer enables potential candidates to quickly apply online using integrated CV extraction technology. Detailed reporting functionality within the system then enables The National Trust's Line Managers to quickly analyse recruitment trends and activity and obtain key diversity information.
In order to provide a usable and attractive search tool for candidates, HotLizard designed an intuitive job search system based on selected key job functions as well as an interactive map with hot spots linking to location specific vacancies and the option to receive jobs by email.
As a result of implementing their new e-recruitment solutions, almost 40% of applications in the first quarter of 2009 came via The National Trust's career site and 96% of applicants interviewed from the website were successful.
